The distal biceps tendon has torn. Lacertus fibrosus is a fan like structure of the tendon which attaches over the antecubital fossa. When involved in the injury, retraction up the arm is far greater as it acts as an anchor to the distally attaching long head of biceps tendon on its way to the radial tubercle.
